Parent Volunteer Sign-Ups
Please check the side-bar of the website for the section on parent volunteers. There will be a sign up for each meet and every family is expected to volunteer for 5-6 shifts (or more!) this season. We can not run the meets without everyone pitching in. As a reminder, parenting at a swim meet is different than being at another sports match. You don’t get to sit on the sidelines and grumble about the refs. Instead you get to be part of the action by volunteering. It’s really fun and we’ll teach you how to do any and all of the jobs.
Intrasquad
WEDNESDAY 5/28
Warm-up @ 5:00 pm, Start @ 5:45pm-ish
Our first team Intrasquad is on Wednesday 5/28. We will have a total of 3 Intrasquads this season. These are meets with only our team and the results do count. You can earn a qualifying time for League and State during these meets. Please note: Your swimmer must swim in a minimum of 2 Dual Meets in order to be eligible for League and State.
Tie-Dye & Ice Cream Party
FRIDAY 5/30
5:30 – 7:00 PM
This is a non-swimming event. All swimmers and family members are welcome to join in the fun. We will have buckets of dye in team colors to tie-dye shirts for the season. You are welcome to bring your own gear or purchase white gator shirts at the event. We’ll help you out if you don’t know what you’re doing 🙂 We will also serve ice cream and have a quick team meeting so everyone is ready to go for the season.
Home Meet
SATURDAY 5/31
Warm-up @ 6:00am, start @ 7:00am
This is our first dual meet of the season and it’s against a big team. The meet will finish by Noon since that is when the pool opens. Please sign up to volunteer at the meet.
How Do My Kids Sign Up for Meets?
There will be a physical sign-up sheet at the pool for every meet. Your swimmer will mark down which races they want to swim at each meet. Your swimmer can choose a maximum of 3 individual events and then let us know if they want to be on a relay. The coaches will work with your swimmer to choose races and we really encourage parents to let their kids sign themselves up. We have found that the physical act of signing the document helps kids get psyched up for the races. Even the 8 and unders!
Team Swimsuits
We should have all the team suits delivered to our pool for our first meet on Wednesday 5/28. – If you still want to order a suit, you are welcome to do so. You’ll just need to pay for shipping directly to your home. Order instructions are on the sidebar.
