As always, this is an optional day but we wanted to give you the info so you can prepare for next week.
– Pictures and Pancakes: We will not have practice on Wednesday, June 24th. Please have your swimmer arrive at 7:30am wearing their team suit (or a black or green suit if possible). Our photographer will take a BIG team picture, plus individual pictures of the swimmers that want that. Once she processes the photos, we will post a link on the side bar to purchase the photo(s). After pictures are done, we will serve Gator pancakes to all the kids. Of course they will be green! We still have slots available to help. Please help if you can (ESPECIALLY FOR CLEAN UP SO WE CAN ALL GET TO WATER WORLD!!): https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090D4DABAC28A1FF2-63991079-gator#/
– Water World: Following Pictures and Gator Cakes, we have a fun team day at Water World. If you are going to Water World, please know that you are responsible for the supervision and transportation of your swimmer. All families are invited. The link for discounted tickets is on the side bar.
This Saturday’s meet is a great time to seek out other parents for transportation if you are unable to get your swimmer there on Wednesday. We have a meet-up spot (see link below for a detailed map) that we grab tables and then all Gator families use this as their point of contact. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ghl346c1HgX1T_HqGreTiE-mwHLn6sZS/view?usp=sharing

– SAT: Dual Meet vs. Applewood Athletic Club (warm up: 6:30am / start: 7:00am)

Sign up here to volunteer:

– GMST vs. AAC: Seating will be tighter here than our last meet. There is a covered pavilion with tables and if you are planning on bringing a tent- DO NOT BRING ANY TENT STAKES- they are very picky about their beloved grassy area. Sign up to volunteer here:
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090D4DABAC28A1FF2-63990813-gmst#/
– A reminder that all families must volunteer for at least five shifts throughout the season. We will be reaching out via emails to those families we have not seen in a volunteer role yet this season.
–Does your swimmer want to be an Iron Gator? We want it for them too! In order to earn the Iron Gator Award your swimmer needs to get a qualifying time in every event available for their age division (anytime throughout the season). They don’t have to win, they just have to swim and not DQ! We love to encourage all swimmers to try ALL the races. We know it’s hard. That’s why it’s the Iron Gator Award. Talk to your coach if you have questions. They would be happy to sign your kid up for an IM to complete the list. Steel Gator Award = League qualifying time in every event; Golden Gator Award = State qualifying time in every event
Tie-Dye Instructions & League T-shirt orders
We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow evening (6/12) at 5:30-7:00 for our Pep Rally. Instead of printing individual instructions for everyone, we look we would post instructions on how to care for your tie-dye here:
Tie-Dye washing instructions: Please wait 24 hours to wash. Leave the item in the bag until you are ready to wash. While the shirt is still tied, it needs to be rinsed under cold running water. When you see very little dye running off the item, start to gradually remove the rubber bands while still rinsing. Get as much dye out as possible this way. Immediately after rinsing wash the item ( by itself ) with cold water and soap in the washing machine. Once this item has been washed and dried you are good to wear.
League T-Shirt orders: The Golden Marlins are hosting the League meet at Splash this year on July 17-19. League shirts and hoodies are available for pre-sale at the link below. Pre-sales will be open until June 28th. Orders will be available for pick up at League. There will be some inventory for in-person sales at League. Prices will be slightly higher and colors/sizes will be limited. https://fsa-league-2026-1.itemorder.com/shop/sale/
Pep Rally & Home Meet
Friday, June 12th 5:30-7:00 is our Pep Rally to get pumped up for our home meet against the Golden Marlins on Saturday, June 13th
The Pep Rally includes tie-dye, sidewalk chalk, music and games. All families are welcome. This is a non-swimming event and the pool will be open to members so when you check in at the front entrance, let the front staff know you are here with the Gator team. We will be selling white Gator gear for the tie-dye but you are also welcome to bring other white items to tie-dye.
We’ve had a long-standing friendly rivalry against the Golden Marlins so we thought it would be fun to pump up our swimmers and get excited for our home meet.
Dual meet on Saturday, June 13th. 6:00 warm-up, 7:00 start. Event sign-ups will be available until Friday mornings practice. We will need lots of help to keep the meet running smoothly, including lots of timers. Here is the link to the sign-up.
Take any great photos? We’d love to see them! We are crowd sourcing photos to add to our social media page so if you would like to contribute any photos you take throughout the season, you can add them to our Google folder. See the blog sidebar for the link as well.
Reminders about the parking lot
We had an incident this morning after the upper-division practice where a swimmer was hit by car backing out of a spot. Luckily, there were no injuries, but this is a good reminder to us all to be extra careful. We know the spaces are tight, but please use extra caution and encourage swimmers to walk on the front end of cars if possible.
INTRASQUAD tomorrow! (5 pm warm-up)
We are excited for our first Intrasquad tomorrow. If you haven’t signed up, please do so ASAP as Coach Ethan and Coach Devon will be working on these during practices tomorrow. We are in need of 2nd and 3rd shift timers. If you are new to the team, it’s a really easy job to take on and you get an excellent view of the pool We won’t be able to run the meet without timers.
