A few of their favorite things

Several families were requesting a list of the coaches favorite things in case you’d like to treat them to something special as a thank you. Here is the list. As a reminder, our banquet is next Wednesday, July 22nd at 5:30 pm.
Bring chairs, blankets and an appetite. It is a fun night of celebrating. We will also have the swimmer file box out loaded with ribbons and medals.
For the potluck, we are requesting the following:
Last Names A-L: side dish / Last Names M-Z: Dessert
The coaches will be dressed to impress and many of the swimmers like to dress up too. For everyone else, flip flops and t-shirts are excellent choices. This is a non-swimming event.

Weekly Update July 12th, 2026

League info- All call for volunteers; Team Banquet on July 22nd; Team Movie Night on July 31st

Congratulations to many swimmers cutting time and making League times this weekend. Congratulations to all swimmers for a fantastic season and for all Gator families making this a great summer swim season.

Be sure to check the blog sidebar for All League Entries. There is a team deadline for Monday evening and late entries/changes cannot be made after the deadline. We will need lots of volunteers to help make League a success. Our main request is timing– help the board out and sign up early so that we don’t have to spend our Friday hunting you down 🙂 Many hands make light work!
Practice schedule for League swimmers is the usual time for this week, including night practices for upper-division.
Come cheer on your Gator 400 Free swimmers Friday evening at the 6th Avenue West Pool. We have 11 swimmers- the largest number of swimmers in the League- and all are welcome to come cheer them on.

Parking on Saturday and Sunday. Parking for families and spectators will be located in the Jefferson County Human Services and Laramie parking lots directly to the west of Illinois Street and above the Splash. Families are
welcome to drop their swimmers and supplies off at the pool entrance in accordance with directed traffic flow. Absolutely NO PARKING at Fossil Trace Golf Course or the Jefferson County Open Space equipment lot. Violators will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.

Team Banquet: We hope all our Gator families will join us in a night of celebration. The event begins at 5:30. We will have awards, certificates, ribbons, trophies, medals and more! The team will provide pizza and water/lemonade. Each family should bring a dish to share….
Last Names A-L: side dish / Last Names M-Z: Dessert.

Reminder to sign up for the Guest List for Team Movie Night. Your name will need to be on the list in order to gain entrance into the pool for this event but all Gator families are welcome. We just need a head count so they can plan appropriately for staffing.

Team Photo Orders

Team photos are now available to order online. Go to: https://www.smugmug.com/gallery/n-Fv4Xqz

Also, all Gator families can enjoy a 10% off summer family photo session.

Lost and Found items– come check out what was left behind at last week’s Intrasquad meet. All items will be donated next week.

Team Movie Night. All Gator families are invited to join the Green Mountain Swim Club during the movie night on Friday, July 31st at 8:00 pm. Movie starts at dusk. Watch while floating in the pool, or get comfortable on the pool deck with a blanket and pillow (swimming permitted until 9:00 pm). Snack Shop will be open. You must RSVP by filling out this Google form no later than Friday, July 17th in order to attend. The front desk will have a list of names at the entrance to get you in for the event.

Weekly update July 5, 2026

Two meet weekend, Gator Week! Please read through the updates for more info…

We hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend. This is the last full week of practice before we head into League and State. Practices will be a bit harder during GATOR WEEK to push for a few more League times at this weekend’s meets. This is possibly the last week of swimming for many swimmers. Beginning, Monday, July 13th, only swimmers planning on competing at the League meet July 17-19th will be attending practice.
The summer season flies by.
–Saturday, July 11th @ Wheat Ridge Anderson Pool. Warm-up is at 6:30 for upper division and 6:45 for lower division. This is an 8-lane pool and will be our fastest meet this season, with a predicted end time of 11:00 (last year was before 10:30am). There are a lot of shady trees so we will not be setting up a team tent, but there is room to bring your own. We will need timers. We currently have 5 but need a total of 20! Here is the link to sign-up.
–Sunday, July 12th @ GMSC. This is the Last Chance meet. For swimmers with B times, it’s the last chance to make a League qualifying time. Sign-up with coaches and you can qualify at Saturday’s meet to swim on Sunday. Warm-up is at 6:00 am for all Gator swimmers. If you are able, we will need the help to host this meet for our league of 8 teams! Please sign up here.
–Team photos should be posted soon… hopefully by Tuesday. See the sidebar for the link to order photos. I will also update here on the blog once we have the link.
–Save the date: Wednesday, July 22nd is our Team Banquet. This is a fun night celebrating all swimmers achievements for the season. The banquet begins at 5:30 pm and this is a non-swimming event.

Weekly Update for June 29th

Spirit Week and Intrasquad on Wednesday, July 1st
-Meet warm-up begins at 5:00, Meet starts at 5:30pm

Congratulations to all of our swimmers for a big meet weekend! Thank you to all of the many volunteers to make this happen. There were a lot of fast times, including new League and State qualifications. A special congrats to our medal winners from the Pentathlon: Marielle (8 and under girls), Annika J. (11-12 girls), Nolan J. (11-12 boys), Gwyneth J. (13-14 girls), Kerington J. (15-16 girls), Phoebe P (17-18 girls), Byung-A C. (17-18 boys)!

Don’t forget that upper division practice is 7-8am (Monday, June 29) and it’s Spirit Week with Opposite Day kicking off Monday. Other days will be posted here so stay tuned.

Please sign up to help with the meet on Wednesday! It’s our last Intrasquad and last home meet for most swimmers this season. Parents- get ready to break out those swimsuits and dust off your goggles. There is a fun parent versus coaches relay at the conclusion of the meet. It’s a fun tradition as we celebrate the wrap-up of our home meets. Don’t be shy- it’s dark by then and the kids will cheer you on! See Natalie at the beginning of the meet to get signed up.

Busy weekend! Three meets

A reminder to get signed up for all meets by Friday at practice.
C/D and Pentathlon sign-ups are underneath the Genesee sign-ups (you could still qualify for Sundays meets at the meet on Saturday).
We cannot run the meets without timers. Please step up to help out, especially with third shift timing if your child is swimming the IM.
Here are the links for signing up: Genesee, C/D meet & Pentathlon

**Important note about parking at Genesee- They have very limited parking at the Foothills clubhouse and even on the roads nearby.  A great solution for those that need to drive (that’s all of us), is to park up on Foothills Drive (not blocking driveways, and be sure to park outside the white lines on the shoulder), and take the short trail/path down Wildflower Loop to get you to the pool. Here is a map of the trail for the cutover. **Be sure to park outside the white lines on the shoulder to avoid being ticketed.

**Practice on Monday is optional for all swimmers swimming at both meets this weekend to give them some rest. All upper-division atttending practice on Monday: practice will only be from 7:00-8:00am
