Gator Nation or At Least State

Hi All,

Sorry it took me so long to post I have just been busy the past week. If you have had a chance to look at results from state you will see that GMST took second in division II. That is the best we have done since I have been with the team so congratulations to all who swam. I would like to give a shout out to the 11-12 Boys and Girls who dominated the meet.

I will post info about the clinics in the next week or two I just need to get the times. Hope to see you all soon.

Keep swimming

Hey All,

Under the state entries I posted a new best times sheet and league results. One cool note about the league results is if you check the 11-12 boys 50free, 200 Free, and 100 IM you might see a familiar name.

Just so you all know I saw the parents doing a rain dance at the pool hoping to rain out the coaches relay tomorrow. I don’t know about you but I don’t think it will work.

Weekend Update

Gooo gators!!!

What a weekend it has been! The coaches are wiped out from all the amazing races that you swimmers did! We did end up placing 4th overall, which is great for our team. The coaches goal for the season was to place in the top 4 in league, thank you for your hard work and helping us achieve our goal! I am going to go ahead and highlight some key races that took place:

-11-12 girls medley and free relay: For all of those who were not there to witness these heart-pounding races, they took first overall in both relays! Congrats to Kaylan, Ianna, Anna, Sydney, and Kenzie. Let’s just say the girls had a lot of resting time on the wall after they finished…

Kelsey Bollig: Crushed the 200 IM. Not only did she drop 11 seconds, but overtook the top seed while doing so and made the top seed girl cry! Oh and by the way she also snagged a record! Way to finish strong on your last FSA event!

8-under boys Medley Relay: Finished 2nd overall moving up from their 8th place seed spot!! We are so proud of you Ethan, Mason, Adam, and Ryan!

There are many more that we would love to highlight, but I would be on this computer all night! Congratulations to all you league swimmers we will talk about more key races at the banquet!

VERY IMPORTANT!!

Hey gators,

I hope that you are all home resting up for your big weekend! I have some important information regardging Sunday July 24th.
*Colfax Avenue will be closed Sunday starting at 6:30 a.m. The only places that you will be allowed to cross are at Simms and Federal. This is very important for us because our warm-ups start at 7:00 and it would be really nice and less stressful for the coaches to have everyone on time to warm ups. My recommendation on how to get to the pool would be to take I-70 around to Ward Road and turn left on 44th, or to take I-70 to Kipling. This way you can avoid all of the congestion at those two spots where you are allowed to cross Colfax. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Swimmers please keep checking the board at the pool for your entries, we have had a couple of relay changes and I would like all of you to know exactly where you are swimming. Thanks for a great week of practice, the coaches are all excited for this weekend!!

*400 swimmers don’t forget about your wake-up swim tomorrow. Feel free to come anytime after 8:00 a.m.

Thank you to the Moore family for relaying the information about the road closure, we really appreciate it!

Thanks,
Coach Shelby
