Weekly update July 5, 2026

Two meet weekend, Gator Week! Please read through the updates for more info…

We hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend. This is the last full week of practice before we head into League and State. Practices will be a bit harder during GATOR WEEK to push for a few more League times at this weekend’s meets. This is possibly the last week of swimming for many swimmers. Beginning, Monday, July 13th, only swimmers planning on competing at the League meet July 17-19th will be attending practice.
The summer season flies by.
–Saturday, July 11th @ Wheat Ridge Anderson Pool. Warm-up is at 6:30 for upper division and 6:45 for lower division. This is an 8-lane pool and will be our fastest meet this season, with a predicted end time of 11:00 (last year was before 10:30am). There are a lot of shady trees so we will not be setting up a team tent, but there is room to bring your own. We will need timers. We currently have 5 but need a total of 20! Here is the link to sign-up.
–Sunday, July 12th @ GMSC. This is the Last Chance meet. For swimmers with B times, it’s the last chance to make a League qualifying time. Sign-up with coaches and you can qualify at Saturday’s meet to swim on Sunday. Warm-up is at 6:00 am for all Gator swimmers. If you are able, we will need the help to host this meet for our league of 8 teams! Please sign up here.
–Team photos should be posted soon… hopefully by Tuesday. See the sidebar for the link to order photos. I will also update here on the blog once we have the link.
–Save the date: Wednesday, July 22nd is our Team Banquet. This is a fun night celebrating all swimmers achievements for the season. The banquet begins at 5:30 pm and this is a non-swimming event.

Weekly Update for June 29th

Spirit Week and Intrasquad on Wednesday, July 1st
-Meet warm-up begins at 5:00, Meet starts at 5:30pm

Congratulations to all of our swimmers for a big meet weekend! Thank you to all of the many volunteers to make this happen. There were a lot of fast times, including new League and State qualifications. A special congrats to our medal winners from the Pentathlon: Marielle (8 and under girls), Annika J. (11-12 girls), Nolan J. (11-12 boys), Gwyneth J. (13-14 girls), Kerington J. (15-16 girls), Phoebe P (17-18 girls), Byung-A C. (17-18 boys)!

Don’t forget that upper division practice is 7-8am (Monday, June 29) and it’s Spirit Week with Opposite Day kicking off Monday. Other days will be posted here so stay tuned.

Please sign up to help with the meet on Wednesday! It’s our last Intrasquad and last home meet for most swimmers this season. Parents- get ready to break out those swimsuits and dust off your goggles. There is a fun parent versus coaches relay at the conclusion of the meet. It’s a fun tradition as we celebrate the wrap-up of our home meets. Don’t be shy- it’s dark by then and the kids will cheer you on! See Natalie at the beginning of the meet to get signed up.

Busy weekend! Three meets

A reminder to get signed up for all meets by Friday at practice.
C/D and Pentathlon sign-ups are underneath the Genesee sign-ups (you could still qualify for Sundays meets at the meet on Saturday).
We cannot run the meets without timers. Please step up to help out, especially with third shift timing if your child is swimming the IM.
Here are the links for signing up: Genesee, C/D meet & Pentathlon

**Important note about parking at Genesee- They have very limited parking at the Foothills clubhouse and even on the roads nearby.  A great solution for those that need to drive (that’s all of us), is to park up on Foothills Drive (not blocking driveways, and be sure to park outside the white lines on the shoulder), and take the short trail/path down Wildflower Loop to get you to the pool. Here is a map of the trail for the cutover. **Be sure to park outside the white lines on the shoulder to avoid being ticketed.

**Practice on Monday is optional for all swimmers swimming at both meets this weekend to give them some rest. All upper-division atttending practice on Monday: practice will only be from 7:00-8:00am

League Updates

League shirt orders- click here.

Don’t forget that pre-orders for League shirts are due by Sunday, June 28th. You can still purchase shirts at League but they will have limited colors and sizes. All pre-orders can be picked up at the shirt tent on Saturday or Sunday at Splash Golden.
All 400 Free events will be at 6th Avenue West (Stingrays) on Friday, July 17th at 6 pm. (Warm-up at 5:30) If you are able, we would love the help with timing and cheering our long-distance Gators.
All Events 7-64 (except for the Free Relays) take place on Saturday, July 18th at Splash Golden. This meet should wrap-up around 12:30 pm. We will need help with timing and early bird set up and clean up.
All Events 65-110 (including the Free Relays going first) take place on Sunday, July 19th at Splash Golden.

Weekly Update 6/21/2026

Busy Week!!
-Gator Day Wednesday, June 24th. Picture/Pancakes/Water World
-Saturday, June 27th- Dual meet at Genessee Mountain Thunder
-Sunday, June 28th- Pentathlon at AAC
-Sunday, June 28th- C/D Meet at Splash

Saturday, June 27th– see sidebar for the addresss. This should be a quicker meet since Genessee is a pretty small team. We will need timers and a few other shifts filled. If your swimmer is swimming the Individual Medley, please consider signing up for the third shift- it will be a much shorter shift. Here is the link to sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090D4DABAC28A1FF2-63990855-gmst#/

On Sunday, June 28th we have two optional meets.
The Pentathlon is a challenging but rewarding endurance meet where swimmers will swim all four stroke events, plus the IM for a total of five events in one meet. A swimmer must have ‘B’ times in at least four of the five events in order to qualify for this meet. Click here to see Top Times to see if you qualify. This is a ‘pay per swimmer’ event, paid by the team, but that means if you sign up to attend, it’s important you SHOW UP. Awards: There are ribbons for the top six in each event. For the final cumulative time of all five events, medals will be awarded to the top three swimmers in each age group. If a swimmer is disqualified (DQ) in one event, we will add 10% to their cumulative time.
We will need timers and officials, so please sign up here! Warm up is at 6:20 for all swimmers, meet starts at 7:00.

C/D Meet: This meets gives swimmers with C/D times a chance to swim against similarly skilled swimmers. The meet includes all normal dual meet events and is at the Splash in Golden. Warm-up is at 6:20 am for all swimmers. Start time at 7:15 am. We will also need timers and officials for this meet so please sign up here if your swimmer is swimming. We cannot run the meets without timers, so if you haven’t had a chance to time at a meet, this is a great one to step up for.

As always, if you have questions about eligibility, ask your coaches at practice this week.

Gator Day next Wednesday, June 24th

As always, this is an optional day but we wanted to give you the info so you can prepare for next week.
– Pictures and Pancakes: We will not have practice on Wednesday, June 24th. Please have your swimmer arrive at 7:30am wearing their team suit (or a black or green suit if possible). Our photographer will take a BIG team picture, plus individual pictures of the swimmers that want that. Once she processes the photos, we will post a link on the side bar to purchase the photo(s). After pictures are done, we will serve Gator pancakes to all the kids. Of course they will be green! We still have slots available to help. Please help if you can (ESPECIALLY FOR CLEAN UP SO WE CAN ALL GET TO WATER WORLD!!): https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090D4DABAC28A1FF2-63991079-gator#/
Water World: Following Pictures and Gator Cakes, we have a fun team day at Water World. If you are going to Water World, please know that you are responsible for the supervision and transportation of your swimmer. All families are invited. The link for discounted tickets is on the side bar.
This Saturday’s meet is a great time to seek out other parents for transportation if you are unable to get your swimmer there on Wednesday. We have a meet-up spot (see link below for a detailed map) that we grab tables and then all Gator families use this as their point of contact. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ghl346c1HgX1T_HqGreTiE-mwHLn6sZS/view?usp=sharing
