Swim Team Fees

1st swimmer: $250 + $75 pool fee if not a member of the Green Mountain Swim Club
2nd swimmer: $230 + $75 non-member pool fee
3rd swimmer: $210 + $75 non-member pool fee
4th swimmer: $0 + $75 non-member pool fee

Reminder: All team dues should be paid by Friday 5/23. You can pay via cash, check, or credit card at the first week of practice (5/19-5/22) or via Venmo @GreenMtnGators

*Order by May 12th to have suits delivered by our first meet. Choose in-store pick up and your suit will be delivered to our team for free by our first instra-squad meet on Wednesday 5/28*

This week’s questions answered:
1- Where does the team practice? Our team will practice exclusively at the Green Mountain Swim Club (1031 S. Union Blvd, Lakewood 80228). We will have 3 home meets on Saturdays against other teams and 3 Intra-sqaud Meets with just our team on Wednesday evenings. We then have a slew of other Saturday meets that at our at other pools. The schedule is up to date on our website: https://gmstgators.com/practice-meets/ .
2- How long do the meets last? It depends, but you can generally expect Saturday meets to go from 6am – Noon. We will keep you up to date each week with information about the specific events we have going on with more details.
3- How many meets does my swimmer have to attend? We encourage your family to attend as many meets as possible, but all swimmers must participate in a minimum of 2 dual meets (Saturday meets) and have qualifying times to be eligible for League and State.

REMINDERS: Clean Up Day + Swimsuit Fitting

Quick reminders for this week…

1- Clean up day at the pool is on Saturday 5/3 from 9am – 2pm. If you are a swim team member, check in with Danielle and she will enter you into a fun prize drawing for Gator gear for helping out.
2- Team Swimsuit Fitting is on Saturday 5/3 from 2:45pm – 4:30pm at the Green Mountain Rec Center.
If your child is swimming at clinic, please have them fitted before they get in the water. If your swimmer already knows their swimsuit size, you do not need to attend. We will have a link to order suits posted to the blog by Sunday. If you aren’t sure about ordering a suit this year, that’s OK too. Team suits are not required but we do suggest that your swimmer wears a suit to meets that is black or green so it’s easier for the coaches to find them, both in and out of the water. Note: We will have the same suit as last year.

Gator Updates 4/19

As the summer nears, please start checking the blog for updates. There is a lot happening.

Details:
– Waitlist: You will be notified by May 1st if you are on the waitlist or if your spot on the team has been guaranteed. We will have further details at that time. We are working closely with other teams in our League and making sure there is a spot for every swimmer.

– Pool Clean Up Day:
Saturday, May 3rd May 3rd Sign up from 9:00am – 2:00pm
Saturday May 10th May 10th Sign up from 9:00am – 2:00pm.
The pool will be having two clean up days. As a reminder, the swim team does not exist without this pool. WE LOVE THE GREEN MOUNTAIN SWIM CLUB. Whether you are a member of the swim club or only the swim team, we ask that you stop by and give a hand if you can spare and hour or two.

– Team Swimsuit Fitting Day:
Saturday, May 3rd from 2:45 pm – 4:15pm at Green Mountain Rec Center
Team suits are recommended, but not required on our team. If your swimmer does not know their size, they can come to the fitting and order their suit for the summer. If they do know their size, we will post a link on our website after the fitting with the link to order the team suit. We will have the same design as last year.

– Year Round Swimmers: Good news! The State Board has issued an extension this season for the cut-off date. You can swim with your year-round team until May 19th. We know there are some big meets, so swim fast! The Gators will be waiting for you on May 20th.

Summer Registration Open

PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT MESSAGE: We expect a large number of swimmers this year and will implement a waiting list in order to cap the total number of swimmers at a safe level for our pool and each individual age group.

What does this mean for you?
step 1: register your swimmers for the team. DO NOT PAY.
step 2: you will be notified by May 1st if your registration is complete or if you are on the waiting list.
step 3: if you are on the waiting list, all final placements will be made by Tuesday 5/27.

We accept swimmers of all levels. However, all swimmers 8 and under must be able to swim 25 meters without assistance of a lane line or wall and must not be a drowning risk. We understand how exciting it is to be a part of the swim team and also understand that some kids just aren’t ready. This is for the safety of the entire team. All new 8 and under swimmers are required to to try-out the week of 5/19 in order to have their skill level assessed.
