It's here!! The Swim Team Banquet — Gator-Style! – WEDNESDAY 5:30PM

We will get together to recognize our swimmers and coaches for an outstanding season, share our thank yous and hand out some awards. We would like to invite all swimmers and their families to our end of the season banquet.  This will be at the Green Mountain Swim Club (which will be closed for our event). The team will provide pizza and water/lemonade.  We are asking families to bring a side dish and/or dessert based on your Last Name to share in our potluck style dinner.

Time:  5:30 pm – 8:30 pm (or early or later. Hard to say exactly)
Date:  Wednesday, July 25
Place:  GMSC
Bring:  last name begins with A-L: side dish //  last name begins with M-Z: dessert

Also, you may want to bring a camp chair to sit in, a camera to take pics, and cocktails for the board members 🙂

We look forward to seeing all of our Gator families on Wednesday!

League/State Updates

There was a little bit of confusion for warm-up times/locations for League. Please see below.
LEAGUE:
FRIDAY 400’S:  There is an “open” warmup from 4:15-4:55pm. Your swimmer can show up anytime during the open warm up and jump in any lane.
SATURDAY: warm up is at 6:20 am- Upper division will be at GMSC, lower division will be at CKST. However, if you have kids that need to be in both places, just head to CKST and warm up there.
SUNDAY:  Same deal as Saturday
PARENT VOLUNTEERS:  We still need your volunteer help at League:  Please see the sign up Genius.
STATE PRACTICE NEXT WEEK:
If your child has qualifying times for State or is asked to be in a State relay, practice times will be as follows:
7:00 am – 8:00 am: Upper Division
8:00 am – 9:00 am:  Lower Division
…. and don’t forget that we have a Team Banquet next week on Wednesday, July 25. Don’t forget to check the blog for all the details!

Movie Night: Wednesday 7/18

Here is information you should know about the Gator movie night.

  • This event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 18th at 8:00pm
  • This event will be at Green Mountain Swim Club
  • We will be watching Finding Dory
  • This movie night is for all Gators (sorry no guests)
  • There will be NO SWIMMING allowed on this night
  • Popcorn and water will be available.  You are more than welcome to bring other snacks
  • Swimmers should come dressed comfortable (pajamas are encouraged) and bring a blanket/pillow to use as we will be on the grass
  • Parents–this is a drop off event.  We will keep them and ask that you return to the pool around 9:45pm (no later than 10) to pick them up
We hope to see you all there.

POOL UPDATE + VOLUNTEER HELP + PRACTICE UPDATES

POOL UPDATE:  The pool is filled, the chemicals are being balanced and the temperature is where we need it. However, the water is now green in the deep end of the pool.  The water is safe to swim in and we have been given the go-ahead for our meet on Saturday. We will be swimming Rio Olympic-style with a little green colored water on our home turf, The Gator Swamp!

VOLUNTEERS: I could use some help tonight (Friday) setting up for the meet, help on Saturday at the meet, help at the Last Chance Meet (if you are going) and help at Intrasquad.  Yep, it’s a LOT! Please use the Parent Volunteer tab on the right and sign up for all the fun things you can’t wait to do!

LAST CHANCE MEET:
Reminder that the Last Chance Meet is being hosted by 5Parks on Sunday. All entries are due by the end of our Saturday meet. You must sign up online to participate. Click here to sign up or go to right side of blog.

PRACTICES:
Monday 7/16: All swimmers welcome at regular practice times.  Instrasquad Monday night. Sign up for events will be posted until after practice on Monday.

Tuesday 7/17- Friday 7/20:  practice for League qualifiers only and those individuals who have been asked to be on a relay team for League. Practice will remain at standard times
