Please take a minute to read through. There is a lot happening!
NEW PARENT MEETING: Wednesday at 5:30pm (right before the Intrasquad starts). We will give a brief rundown of how swim team works and be available for all your questions. If you are returning parent you do not need to attend this (unless of course you want to. All are welcome)
PARENT VOLUNTEERS: We need you! Please head to the volunteer section on the right side of the blog. There will be a sign-up for each meet. It takes a lot of help to run a meet. We expect all families to volunteer for a minimum of 5 shifts throughout the season. This is not a “sit on the sidelines” kind of sport. Everyone gets to pitch in and have fun!
THE GRASS!!! The Swim Club made a big investment this year and put down new grass all over the property. We have been asked to (more or less) not set up on the grass at our first two meets. I know this will be hard. You can set up on deck, around the baby pool, or on the upper flat grass that is not new. Please do not be offended if we ask you to move. We are all in this together, so let’s get cozy.
WEATHER: If you are unsure if we are having practice, postponing a meet or any other function due to weather, please check the blog. We will always post to the blog if something changes.
MEET SIGN UPS: We will have sign-up sheets for the Intrasquad posted at the pool through practice on Wednesday morning. The Dual Meet sign-up will be posted through practice on Friday morning. All meet sign ups are in-person at the pool and swimmers are expected to work with the coaches to pick their races. Parents of younger swimmers… please let your swimmer work with the coach to sign themselves up. This will help them feel more confident in what they choose to swim.
SWIM SUITS: If you ordered a suit, they will be at the pool starting Wednesday morning. The coaches will hand them out throughout the week.
PIZZA + GATOR GEAR! We will have pizza, chips, gatorade and soda to sell at our Intrasquad meet as a courtesy. We know it’s hard to get off work, get to a swim meet and plan dinner. We will also have our latest Gator Gear (t-shirts, sweatshirts, tanks, swim caps, etc) available for purchase.

Due to weather… we have secured lanes at the Green Mountain Rec Center on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday. We are still trying to get to the Swim Club this week and Thursday is our best bet!

4-4:45pm 9 and unders
4:45-5:30pm 10-12 years old
5:30-6:30pm 13 and older

Thursday @ GMSC
4-4:45pm 9 and unders
4:45-5:30pm 10-12 years old
5:30-6:30pm 13 and older

We will make a decision by noon each day whether practice is on or off depending on weather. Please do not call/text/email regarding practice. All you need to do is check the blog before heading out to the Swim Club 🙂 Thanks.

After school practices: 
Monday 5/23 – Thursday 5/26
4:00 – 5:00 pm 12 and under
5:00 – 6:00 pm 13 and older

Morning practices:
6:30 – 8:00 am  13 and older
8:00 – 9:00 am  9-12 year olds
9:00- 10:00 am 8 and under

**Note: If you have a 9 year old and would like them to swim in the 9am practice, please reach out.

First Meet: Intrasquad #1 – Wednesday 6/1 – warm up at 5:00pm

First Dual Meet: Saturday 6/4 – warm up at 6:00am

REMINDER: All swimmers must be registered AND paid by Tuesday 5/31 in order to compete in the Wednesday meet.

Details:
-Pool Clean Up Day: It takes a lot of work to get the pool ready for swim season and it’s ALL done by volunteers. If you have time on Saturday, we’d love to have your help. Bring work gloves, weeding tools, and a willingness to help out.
– Swim Suit Fitting: This will be the last day to try on a suit and make sure you are ordering the right size. (Team suits are not required. They are optional, but most kids do want to wear a team suit.)
– Swim Suit ordering: Suits are ordered from Colorado Swim Shop. You can call them directly and order over the phone 303-545-2090 or use our team store (details on right side of blog). Notes: If the password is not working for you, please just call the store. Also, if you choose “in store pick up” the suits will be delivered to our pool in one bulk order and save you the shipping costs.

We have a one-piece race suit for the girls and jammers for the boys. There will also be limited sizing for upper division speedos.

If you don’t know what size to order, you’re in luck. We will have one final fitting day on Saturday, May 7th from 3-4pm at the Green Mountain Rec Center.
