What a great end to our regular home season at Golden on Saturday. We especially love the Gary the Gator made an appearance! For those of you that are not swimming at League, we look forward to seeing you at the Team Banquet on 7/23. (details below for your calendars)…

League Updates:

Order of Events – please note that the order of events is slightly altered for League. Everything stays in its normal order, except the Free Relays are moved to the end of the meet. 

Parking – there is a map on the side bar, but street parking is your best option (please be mindful of houses and no parking signs)

Team Tent- We will be tight with other teams and have a very specific area in which are team can set up. Please do not wander to another location because it looks better. You will be encroaching on other teams, who also have limited space. You’re stuck with us for the day. We will have two team tents for kids/parents and will be happy to make a tent village within the capacity of our space. Please share all space/tents with our gator families. 

League Caps: Your swimmer will be given their League Cap at the meet on Friday or Saturday. Please have them check in with the coaches upon their arrival. Please note: league caps are given to swimmers who both qualify for League AND swim at the event. All swimmers must wear the team cap during the meet. This is a League rule.

— Team Banquet Info —
Our Team Banquet will be at the pool on Wednesday 7/23. This is a non-swimming event and the pool will be closed for us. The team will provide pizza and lemonade and all families will bring a potluck item to share. This is a really fun event that honors all of the swimmers achievements over the summer and we hope your family can join us.

Your swimmer might have the option to swim in the Last Chance Meet on Sunday. This meet is only for swimmers that have “B” times and are trying one last time to qualify for League. Note: Swimmers are not allowed to use this meet to better their League or State times.

Please talk to your Coach on Saturday at our Golden meet if your swimmer wants to swim at the Last Chance Meet.

Hello Gator Families! We have a lot going on this week, including the possibility that this is the last week of swimming for many of the kids on our team. Please read through updates for more info….

Summary:
– Gator Week/Spirit Week Starts on Monday 7/7!
– Dual Meet vs. Golden on Saturday 7/12 @ Splash in Golden
– League practice starts 7/14
– Team Photos are ready from Picture & Pancake Day

Details:
– Gator Week/Spirit Week: Coach Ethan will send out a detailed email regarding all the spirit week themes for each day this week, so stay tuned! It is also Gator week which is our traditional team week for harder practices as the coaches train all the kids up to try to make League times. Your kids will probably tell you that the practices are harder this week and they wont’ be exaggerating 🙂 This all starts on Monday 7/7 (which happens to be Coach Neva’s birthday, so feel free to give her a big birthday high five!)
– GMST vs. Golden: This is one of our favorite meets of the summer since so many of the kids swim for the Marlins Head Coach, Coach Adams, at GMHS. We have a very fun rivalry with the Golden Marlins and love to swim against their very big and fun team. Warm ups are at 6:30am, start time at 7:00am. – League Practice: What does this mean for your swimmer? If your swimmer has made League times AND plans to swim at League, then they should be at practice starting Monday 7/14. If your swimmer did not make any League times, then their last week of practice will be this week (7/7-7/11). We still have the Team Banquet on Wed 7/23 and our Team Movie Night on Wed 7/30 to round out the season, so your kids aren’t done with us yet 🙂

– WED 7/2: INTRASQUAD #3 + parent relay!
– FRI 7/4: No practice
– SAT 7/5: Bye Weekend – No Meet

Details:
– Intrasquad #3: This is our last team Intrasquad and we like to make it fun! We will have some mid-meet relays that the coaches are setting up and an end-of-meet relay between the coaches and the parents. If you would like to swim in the parent relay, pack your suit and talk to Danielle at the beginning of the meet and she will get you on a team. We need anywhere from 6-12 parents that are willing to swim a 50 freestyle. Our 2024 parent team are the reigning champions, so we are excited to see who brings the heat this year. Warm up @ 5pm / start @ 5:30pm. Please do now show up before 4:45 as the lifeguards need to “close” the pool for us. Thanks.
