100% Swimming

100 Percent swimming was created as an alternative to a full commitment and higher costs that comes with some club swimming.

If your swimmer is of high school age and swimming on a team then practice for you would end after that first week in November.  The purpose of this is to keep swimmers in shape and focus on technique over typical non-swimming months.  The design is a no nonsense practice with no commitment to weekends.  There are no expectations of practices you need to make, but hopefully you make the commitment to make a majority of the practices.  There will not ever be more than 5 swimmers per lane which means that this will be capped at the first 20 swimmers on a first come first serve basis so if you are interested please contact me soon.

  • Practice 3x/week @ the Green Mountain Rec Center
  • Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Cost is $225 covers 24 practices and a shirt.
  • Practice starting on Monday Sept 9th – Monday Nov 4th (with Halloween off).  Times are TBD but expect 7:30 -8:30ish
  •  Strong swimmers age 12  and up with the expectation that a swimmer is comfortable with swimming roughly 1600 meters in one hour.
  • Swimmers must have swim experience.  We will practice technique, but this is not a learn to swim setting
  • The cost includes facility rental, coaches pay and insurance.  250 dollars is a non refundable fee regardless of how many practices you can make per week

Coaches:
Tim Campbell (Rolling Hills Country Club, Green Mountain High School)

Final Season Wrap-Up

Thank you again for another great Gator season. The team movie night was Kung-Fu cozy and we are glad so many of you could make it.

Swimmer Files: the file box is now in the guards office. You 100% have items in your swimmer file if you a) missed the banquet, b) swam at League, c) swam at State, or d) neglected to check the box this season. We’d love for you to grab your swimmer’s stuff.
Fall Swim Clinic: We will host our annual Fall swim clinic at the Green Mountain Rec Center starting in mid to late September. Once we have the dates and times secured, we will post to our website on the side bar under Next Event. Stay tuned.

Movie Night + Big Win!

Reminder: We have our final team gathering on Wednesday night 7/24 from 8:30pm – 10:15pm-ish for team movie night. This is a non-swimming event and is for our swim team only + siblings and/or parents. Swimmers are encouraged to bring blankets and pillows for a cozy night. – Please do not show up before 8:15pm. The lifeguards need time to clear the grounds and pick up before we head in. – Parents are welcome to stay or drop off and return around 10:00pm.

Finally, a massive congratulations to our State Team. We placed 3rd at State behind Virginia Vale (1st) and Applewood Knolls (2nd). From the outside this may not seem impressive, BUT IT IS! We had 20-40 less swimmers than both of those teams and beat many teams bigger than ours. Our kids were fast, our coaches were on it, and our parents were loud. Way to get at it Gators!

Team Banquet + State Meet

Week of 7/15 (as we wind down and also ramp up!) Congrats to our League Swimmers! Our team place 2nd this year right behind Applewood Knolls.

Summary:
Monday: State Meet Practice Times (see below)
Wednesday: Team Banquet @ 5:30pm
Fri-Sun: State Meet

Details:
State practice this week:
7:00-8:00 am: 13 and older
8:00-9:00am: 12 and under

Banquet: – Wednesday 5/17 @ 5:30pm: We have our end of the season Team Banquet on Wednesday night (rain or shine). This is a wonderful time to honor all our swimmers and reward them for their hard work this season. We will have awards, certificates, ribbons, trophies, medals and more! The team will provide pizza and water/lemonade. Each family should bring a dish to share….
Last Names A-L: side dish / Last Names M-Z: Dessert.
The coaches will be dressed to impress and many of the swimmers like to dress up too. For everyone else, flip flops and t-shirts are excellent choices. Please bring your potluck item and a chair, then sit back and enjoy.

If you cannot make the banquet, stop by the Guard Shack at the pool to look through the Swimmer File box. It will be updated with any awards your swimmer might have won, ribbons from previous meets, an individual times report for the season and whatever else might come up.

State Meet:
Entries for State are due on Monday by noon. If your swimmer is qualified and can’t swim, please let the coaches know ASAP. The side bar will be updated with details as soon as we have them, as well as our timing assignments (which we will not know until Wednesday). A detailed email will be coming your way.
